P.R.I.M.E. Interdepartmental Memo
Classification: Forward Facing Document
Clearance: White
Department: PR and Narrative Control
Notes: In order to maintain peace and ensure stability, the following is to be dispensed publicly throughout mainstream media formats.
Official Statement:
The Southern Fringe is a collection of stories presented as a fictional tv show about small towns in the South, paranatural objects, and the shadow agency that steps in when the two collide.
While we mention names of real cities, such as Birmingham, Mobile, Auburn, Gatlinburg, etc., the stories take place in fictional small towns. Any similarities to any person or town, real or fictional, are merely coincidence.
No matter what you might think, P.R.I.M.E. does not exist outside of these stories. There are no such things as Paranatural Objects.
Primary Influences:
The Southern Fringe draws inspiration from several places that understood something important- weird doesn’t always happen in places of significance. Sometimes it happens in your backyard.
- The Twilight Zone taught us the betrayal in everyday situations
- Twin Peaks showed us quirky small towns keep the best secrets
- The X-Files proved government conspiracies are cool
- Terry Pratchett showed that humor is best when it comes from the unexpected
- Christopher Moore proved that the absurd and the profound can be neighbors
Current status:
Two full-length novels in development. New episodes posted regularly.
For Researchers and Enthusiasts:
Fan content is encouraged. Create art, videos, theories, Tiktoks, whatever The Southern Fringe inspires in you.
There are only two rules: Credit the author, and don’t summon anything you can’t put back.
Questions, comments, links to fan creations, or corrections to the mythology should be sent to TheSouthernFringebooks@gmail.com.

[TOP SECRET//EYES ONLY]
SUBJECT: PATRICK O’NEAL
CLEARANCE: BLACK
STATUS: FIELD AGENT/ARCHIVIST
Subject grew up hearing stories. His father brought them home from years in law enforcement: bank-robbing clowns, easter-bunnies in interrogation rooms, drive-by shootouts with alien motherships. His grandfather brought them from the mountains: Things that stalk graveyards, things that come running when you whistle at night, things that happen to people when they disrespect the land. The kind of stories that didn’t make sense, but happened anyway. The kind where you laugh because the alternative is accepting that reality has plot holes.
This series is what happens when those stories meet Celtic mythology, Southern culture, and a deep affection for the places where “weird” is just the everyday.
Welcome to The Southern Fringe.
